Sightless Pit (The Body, Lingua Ignota, and Full of Hell ) release two new tracks

Goddamn, this is one of the surprises of the year for me. After going wild of excitement of hearing about the forming of Wasted Shirt ( Ty Segall and Brian Chippendale of Lightning Bolt) and Human Impact (Cop Shoot Cop, Unsane and Swans) I heard of the forming of Sightless Pit wich is made of members from The Body, Lingua Ignota, and Full of Hell. They shared their first impressive track “Kingscorpse” a while ago and I knew this was going to be one of the releases of the year. The band has shared two new tracks today. One is called “The Ocean of Mercy” and is extrememly epic and bleak. The second song is “Drunk on Marrow” and is bleak industrial techno and experimental metal. “Drunk on Marrow” is a victory in experimental music and the succes of beautiful combinations of different genres.

Their new album will be released this friday on Thrill Jockey. This beast is called “Grave of A Dog”.

Mozo Mozo on Epileptic Media

I did a post on the underground Austria music label Epileptic Media a while back. The bands on that label range from cosmic experimentalism to Brutal Harsh Noise. Now there is a new album out and ofcourse, what would you expect, it is again something very experimental. Mozo Mozo are some sort of cosmic jazznoise ensemble. Their self-titled is 5 songs long but each track almost 15 minutes in length. Again gorgeous artwork too! I can only say: brace yourself and listen to Mozo Mozo.

Mexican band Sunset Images share new music

This is one of the first bands I shared on Fuzzy Sun when I started the website. This Mexican band creates extremely fuzzy psych combined with a wall of noise. The music is very dense and heavy and still evokes a dreamlike vibe in their music. Their previous album is called “Obscure Daze” and dates back to 2017. So I am verry happy to introduce you the new single by Sunset Images wich is called “Centro de la Ciudad”, a magnificent piece of psychedelic noise.

Xetas release “The Cypher”

“The Cypher” is the new album by Austin punkers Xetas. It is released friday 24 on 12XU and it needs te be free and out in the world. Xetas makes the kind of punk you get happy when listening to but it is still loud an heavy enough to feel tough listening too. There is a bonus too, they make nice low budget vids that are fun to watch. Can you sing along with Xetas? Yes! Can you feel glad when listening to it? Yes! Are you still a heavy person with a good taste in music when you listen to Xetas? Yes!

Be cool and tough and listen to Xetas.

“How Skeletonized Is Made” by How Things Are Made with Skeletonized

I love long titles and I love Skeletonized so you can imagine my joy when I heard there was going to be a collaborative album between the Pennsylvania experimental noisejazz band Skeletonized and the Pennsylvania experimental trio How Things Are Made. The album starts of great with some eerie wild sax and ambient stuff on the background instantly setting the  vibe for this album. On the rest of the album we can hear that these two bands are pretty damn serieus about it, heavy drums, repetitive sax and experiments creat the most eerie weird jazz vibe ever and i love it. Tune in for some weirdness now.

Baklavaa releases vid for “A Thousand Dinners”

If I type Baklavaa in google I get this =>

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor baklava

Is this the meaning of the band? Does this band has something to do with Turkish sweet dessert Baklava that has layers of phyllo sheets filled with nuts and full of extremely sweet syrup? Or nothing at all? I haven’t got a clue. What I do know is that it is a band from Baltimore wich makes the most sweet mix of noiserock and grunge and experimental music. They will release their new album “Sleep Running” February 28 with 20/20 records (vinyl) and Crass Lips records (tape).

Now we get the second track and video from the band. Tune in and watch “A Thousand Dinners”.

The Body, Lingua Ignota, and Full of Hell members form Sightless Pit

Well this is a supergroup! A trio all with an eclectic music taste thrown together in a band called Sightless Pit. They shared a first track and it is quite amazing. The experimental industrial sound on “Kingscorpse” is absolutely epic and brutal. The track is from their upcoming album “Grave of A Dog” and will be released February 21 on Thrill Jockey. This bleak piece of heaviness is best on very high volume. tune in now.

Dead Neanderthals gift us “Mankind”

Dead Neanderthals is a band I am a bit addicted too, if they are too long gone I feel an itch and that itch needs to be scratched and luckily Dead Neanderthals release a lot of music. “Ghost” was released back in September and ended on my end of the year list because of its eerie amazingness. This band is best at creating hypnotic atmospheres and they can do this with ambient, noise, metal or weirdness all together, but they always succeed. On their new track that is called “Mankind” and is 13 minutes long they succeed again. Hypnotic drone rock bordering on the post metal at its best.

Tune in and enjoy.

Austrian Underground: Epileptic Media

Austria, home of a Milka Chocolate factory, home of more then 90 lakes, home of the sachertorte, birthplace of Arnold Schwarzenegger, designers of the most incredibel camper Marchi Mobile but also the home of Andreas, the founder of Epileptic Media, a label for all kinds of weirdo music (some reasonably normal ones too). The label was born somewhere in 2009 and I want to share some of the music that is on the label. Very important to mention is that Andreas makes most of the artwork wich is absolutely stunning and I will drop a pic of those here and there.

Andreas is also a part of Omega World Order wich has stunning merch.

I am going to start with the most recent release and work my way down. Prepare yourself for some pretty cool music.

States of Clay

Seven experimental tracks on this album that is called “Jona Dares”. From dreampop to no wave to noiserock all in one album! I have to say though that the track “Ashes to the Ground” is an absolutely amazing track and you need to hear it.

epi puke puddle

Mozo Mozo, Walser, Nadeshda, Didi Kern & Philipp Quehenberger

A 4-Way split is always awesome. Mozo Mozo gives us experimental jazznoise, Walser takes it a bit more easier with 13 minutes of ambient drone and then Nadesha unleashes 15 minutes of eerie ambient. Then 16 tracks by Didi Kern & Philipp Quehenberger of a something I have no idea how to describe.

Marloe

On “Found + Lost” Marloe delivers some really nice soundscapes and experimental techno tracks. “B02 Artificial” my favourite track of the thing.

epiface

Oort Cloud

we got an experimental one again. This time Oort Cloud gives us  soundscapes and experimental bleeps.

Puke Puddle

Intens eerie industrial sounds by Puke Puddle on the latest “Detox”

epilept

SE Mustard Terrorist

Very creepy futuristic electronic punk loop noise. This is probably already a genre but I baptize this music Floop music.

The Mild

Aha! here we have something else, something thats sounds a bit as if a posthardcore dude got kicked in the face by a death meatel drum machine that only listen to grindcore.

Tsujigiri

Still in the noiserock/grindcore/weird spectrum is Tsujigiri who released “Demoh!” in 2015.

epiiii

Dirt Deflector

We have reached a very strange moment in the timeline of Epileptic Media. its seems the label released a very normal and cool sounding band wich can be described simply as stoner.

Henry Fonda

Another spastic grindcore powerviolence band. Please turn very loud to enjoy this.

Remove Your Skin Please by Chat Pile

The new album by Oklahoma City heavyness Chat Pile is called “Remove your Skin Please”. This is a very great example of how you mix a lot of different genres and create something new and succesfull. This metal/postpunk/noiserock/doom project is a very great listen. very versatile with superb vocals. Chat Pile has made themselves masters in creating an eerie and agressive atmosphere. Tune in and “Remove Your Skin Please”.

Favourite track: Davis

What’s fun and doom? What’s noise and pop? What’s weird? It’s No Teeth

No Teeth is a band from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (I think that is somewhere in England).  When I started Fuzzy Sun they were one of the first bands I got to know. Next to the fact they are quite friendly chaps, their music is pretty cool too.

Their first released EP is called ‘Wither’ and got me hooked instantly. Their are still moments I wake up in the morning and start singing “She’s A Lizaaaaaaard”. On ‘Wither’ the band produces catchy DIY doompop tracks wich are an absolute joy to listen to.

The band is experimental, that is for sure and you can mostly hear it in their later music. 2018 brought ‘Black Butter’, in 2019 a couple of singles and something of an EP kinda thingy. These tracks are raw, unfiltered songs, bringing an experimental side to the band. The producing could be better though, it’s a shame they did not trow a bag of money at it.

The latest single ‘Under Confederate Law (Feed The Ducks)’ is something else again. A hazy bedroom indie doom track.

So I have a strong WTF-vibe with this band. I absolutely love their music and I hope they will release something new soon (hopefully with good producing), with a lot of tracks on it. I could research about them but since I am quite lazy so I decided to just type some questions I want answers too and send it to them. These are the things that are bugging me most.

Fuzzy Sun: the music music is mostly weird, are you guys weird too?

No Teeth: We stray not from the boundaries that you have set us, in short yes, but simply maybe.

Fuzzy Sun: With how many are you exactly? I have the feeling No Teeth is growing in members and are you all real?

No Teeth: There is currently 6 of us and I can assure you we are all at least partly real.

Fuzzy Sun: Whats with all these EP, singles and stuff? when are we getting a full LP?

Fuzzy Sun: We are planning to release more suitable content within the next few months.

Fuzzy Sun: I have the feeling you guys are going deeper in the weird, I am still addicted to the track ‘Lizard’, can we expect more music like this are are you really going hipster weird?

No Teeth: Expect nothing. In truth we have no idea.

Fuzzy Sun: Who is the boss of the band, and how do you decide that, is it the strongest? If you had a fight to the death, who in the band would win.

No Teeth: In hand to hand combat it is difficult to tell who would win, partly due to the fact none of us have any hands!

Fuzzy Sun: one of you guys (probably the loser of the band) buys a lottery tickzet for the whole band, and he goes to collect it and sees its worth a million. what would happen?

No Teeth: There’d be a new chain of soft plays on the rise I can assure you that. Our business ball pools would be well esteemed in the financial committee alongside our well trained parrots. We share everything, especially vegetation.

Fuzzy Sun: Choose: youre whole life explosive diarhhea or the face of a naked russian mole rat

No Teeth: Mole rats are beautiful on the inside.

Xetas release single from upcoming album

Austin noisy punkers Xetas are going to release their third album “The Cypher” on 12XU and it is going to be pretty cool. The first released track is out and is called “The Hierophant”. Their is a video for it too wich is also pretty cool.

The first track is full of energy, hooks good goddman punk riffs and catchy melodies. That is a lot of good for one track. So if the rest is as good as this then we are in for a pretty cool album. It is out in January 24 twentytwenty.

Tune in  for some high energy punk by Xetas.

Electronic Sunday: “No Sleep ‘Til Avon” a compilation by the Avon Terror Corps label

I really want to add a new layer to Fuzzy Sun and I want that layer to be experimental techno/Industrial/noise. Or something like that, I am not an expert, I feel like a baby trying to steer a helicopter. I shared Shit and Shine, Oil Thief and Giant Swan already and I feel I am doing pretty good. To all the noiserock fans and psychedelic rock fans I can only say, hope you enjoy this stuff too.

This time i am sharing “No Sleep ‘Til Avon” wich is a compilation of the Avon Terror Corps Collective. As I said I am new to the game but there are quit a lot of bands on this comp I really dig, there is some psychedelic and Industrial sounds on this that are absolutely smashing. So dig in.

Most of the links from the bands are on the bandcamp page.

Cunts

Cunts are made of members of  Dead Cross, Qui, Retox, Virginia Reed, Hep.Titus and Planet B. This band makes in your face punkrock, punkrock of the real kind, the kind that makes you slightly agressive and filled with energy you did not now you had. They just released their new album “Cunts” on Ipecac Recordings. This is 13 tracks long awesome punknoise. I am a bit blown away by this, this album is extremely fun to listen to, every track is great, there is an awesome Tom Waits cover on it. This album has it all.I absolutely recommend this album to everyone who like their music feral and energetic. Cunts are awesome. Released November one on Ipecac Recordings.

Favorite track: Dying To Hit and the cover Going Out West

The Colony by Oil Thief

You may not believe it but there is other music next to psychedelic rock and noiserock that I like. I have always liked bands like Burial, Shit and Shinen Autechre and stuff like that, but the problem is I know nothing about these genres but I am going to research whenever I find some time. Ofcourse it will still need to fit on Fuzzy Sun with the rest of the music so I am going to search for psychedelic or noisy electronics (someone suggested harsh noise but this is a bit much for me at the moment). I will try to find my way into Industrial and techno.

So, many of you will probably know way more then myself about this stuff, so help me, send some good stuff my way please.

I want to start with Oil Thief, I believe this fits the bill perfectly for me. There is a lot of atmosperic noise, Industrial and a really psychedelic vibe.

The Colony was released September 25 through Total Black and Chondritic Sound. Listen now.

Mexican psych Tajak release new video

I remember Tajak as one of the very first posts I made on Fuzzy Sun. The Mexican band uses an extreme amount of noise and fuzz in their psychedelic rock. The cool ting about the band is their influences, there can be drone rock or ambient influences but it stays absolutely great psychedelic rock. Tune in for the new track ‘I’ve Seen It Fall’ which is hopefully the harbinger for more music.
