Shuck release Petrichor and Rainbows on Hominid

Shuck is a trio from England formed in 2018 by Al Wilson (Ghold) and Jon Perry (Gnod), soon joined by Guitarist Andi Jackson. They shared their Ep ‘Wunder’ a while ago on Hominid too. Now they are back with a full album called ‘Petrichor and Rainbows’ wich is a gorgeous piece of fuzz. Some tracks are devastingly heavy and fast, other have slow riffs and border on doom. Sometimes noiserock or punk or doom but Shuck is always full of fuzz. Tune in now and buy the record.

Even more Thurston Moore

Thurston seems to feel pretty good, constantly sharing music from his solo project, Thruston Moore group or even Chelsea Light Moving. He now shared a new track May Daze with lyrics!

You must be on some kind of revolution kick
Modernity is on the line and says you’re making them sick
Wars and borders, prisons and swords we don’t understand how
Let’s already overthrow overthrowing now

I’m not the type of guy
Who wants to change the world
She’s not the type of guy
He’s a new century girl

Transparency especially in your soldier’s dress
Screw policy if you’re in prison then we’re the one’s under arrest
Star children have taken over they’re broadcasting peace
Time and space have no place for a sister who needs to be free

I’m not the type of guy
Who wants to change the world
She’s not the type of guy
He’s just a new century girl

You took me by surprise
When you dared me to
Glitter everything with change
And i’ll break the rules with you

The Kronk Men release an Evil version of their ablum “3”

Out of Forbidden place records came the new album by oregon rockers The Kronkmen. Their new album “3” was recently released and was really good stuff and now they did something really weird. They released their same album but slowed way down. The thing sounds again good, but now it sounds like the evil sludgy twin brother that is out to get you while you are drooling in your bed at night. This is the soundtrack to your nightmare. Tune in for the Evil verion of The Kronkmen.

More Thurston Moore

There is some new music coming from Thurston Moore since this epidemic. He has shared ‘Sanday Stage’ and ‘No Go’ wich you can listen to below,  and now the  latest track with Thurston saying this about it:

“This wild child was let loose in 2016 whilst the TMG (Thurston Moore Group) was laying down sounds for our Rock n Roll Consciousness release the following year. “Instant Transcendent Conjecture” is a cryptic suggestion into the realization of the poem as a springing into nature. Through the haze of chemical assault, the spring springs by any means necessary. Earth prayers are in action. Transcendence through understanding, and through sacrifice :: we are here in community service to a garden named Heaven. To paraphrase the lads from Liverpool, “Get Back to where you once belonged..””

Another track again with an explanation:

“With the contemporary malaise of thinking for one’s self in the face of crisis and responsibility beyond the concerns and anxiety of ego where signals jam and permissions are crossed with liberation and with sonic meditation you follow your heart. Punk Rock is all about having loud pulse pounding fun and fighting for yr rights while looking out for each other in the pit. NO(W) GO!!!!!!!”

Thurston Moore said this about the 2014 ‘Sunday Stage’ track thats just surfaced:

“It’s Sunday 29 March 2020 and we are all on the same page in our shelters if we are so lucky with food and drink if so blessed and with a loved one or two or three if the gods are really shining – maybe they are – i always feel they are, even in the worst of times – faith is key – religion is what you want for your own devotion to being here and now and today i love rock n roll “do you love rock n’ roll” ” i do – and i love you” the resonant response of the Earth. We are fighting for each other hopefully with dignity despite the horror shows abounding in the hospices where brave soldiers save lives as much as they can – we salute you with loud love and raised guitars. it is time to pray to overthrow the weak governance of merchants of greed, insurrection blowing wild from the amplifiers, our hearts held in Sunday service.”

The Kronk Men

The stuff that comes out on Forbidden Place Records is always pretty damn cool and it is no different with the Oregon rocker The Kronkmen. They released their thrid album called “3” (who could have guessed that?). This is ten tracks of panic induced surfnoise. Though I always miss vocals on bands like this I have to say I really like this album, the basslines are supercool, its catchy and superentertaining. Listen to The Kronk Men and buy their LP.

Thurston Moore and Chelsea Light Moving members share new song

This track is recorded in 2014 but is now just surfacing. Thurston Moore shared this when they released the song.

Tune in for the track “Sunday Service”.

Hypochristmutreefuzz’s ‘Hypnos’: Old fashioned schizophrenic nightmare

Belgian noiserockers Hypochristmutreefuzz (try saying that three times in a row) rock the boat with their second full length album, called Hypnos. The tracks are nightmarish, the influence of American experimental hip hop band Death Grips is everywhere.

‘Hypnos’ is a concept album. All of the tracks are an attack on the senses, all of them short and concise. A couple of scary interludes knit the whole thing together. The mood is nightmarish and chaotic, like an old school horror movie. The influence of Death Grips is everywhere, but ‘Hypnos’ also has a definite nineties noiserock and industrial feel – to the point of being a bit nostalgic.

After an old fashioned intro, the first track is Hypochristmutreefuzz more or less like we know it: ‘Ding Dong’ sports an irregular riff with out-of-control screams and yells on top. Next up is the album’s single, ‘Ode to the night’. It’s a great track, but it could’ve been Death Grips just as well.

The rest of the album goes along similar lines. Interludes and audio fragments that feel somewhat dated, but set the mood, and tracks that yo-yo between nineties industrial and an ode to Death Grips. ‘Ghostess’ somewhat stands out, with a clear hook and melody.

‘Hypnos’ is at its best when you can yell along (terrified! terrified!) and when the typical Hypochristmutreefuzz-riffs join in. The songs with a Death Grips-feel are great and expertly executed, but the original is hard to beat.

You can find Hypochristmutreefuzz and more on “The Big Belgian Noiserock List”.

Hoaries / Beige Eagle Boys split on Reptilian Records

Ooooh gorgeous, I am always super excited when I see something now on the great Reptilians Records. The previous release from Chief Tail is still thundering at my place now and then. And now, yes please, a split between the Texas noiserocker Hoaries who deliver three raw and dirty noiserock tracks straight from the swamp and The Beige Eagle Boys with also three crushing tracks (with a surprisingly cool cover) that sound like Entombed on acid. Is this a magnificent split? Yes Yes Yes. Turn really loud and maybe it will kill the virus too! (wash your hands while you are at it. And buy it.

The Feral Young share “LOVERS OF CONSEQUENCE”

The Feral Young are an awesome band.  Their sound is always full of energy and ranges between noiserock and punk. I was absolutely hooked on their 7″ “I Haven’t Seen Myself in a While” wich was released  in 2018 and has to be their most ferocius work to date. A while ago their shared a new track “Complicated Transmissions” and now we get another one “Love of Consequence”. Both these tracks are way more accessible and catchy raw punk. Tune in to hear them now!

Luminous Bodies release “Nah Nah Nah Yeh Yeh Yeh”

I am a complainer, I like to complain and nag and certainly when I am sick. Well, I had the flu and it really sucked you know, I was like four days in bed, I could not eat Pizza nor Pitta, could not drink (only if i forced myself i could drink that tasteless clear fluid), could barely walk around and you know, I am a man so it sucks even more. Afterwards I got a stomach bug and had the terrible shits. The only positive thing about this whole irritating illness is I could listen to as much Luminous Bodies I wanted. So I am really happy they finally released it so now I can get on with my life. I heard their album “Nah Nah Nah Yeh Yeh Yeh” mostly on the toilet and I found out the acoustics in that place is really good. Luminous Bodies (Terminal Cheesecake, Part Chimp, We Wild Blood, MGF, Melting Hand and Gum Takes Tooth) rocks really loud and good and they deserve a special place in your heart. Out on Box Records since February 7.

Well release “Trench Dancer”

Big fat noiserock from Australia. Somewhere in Melbourne is the band Well and on their bandcamp you can find the info who played, plays aor plays again in the band but its quite complex. Unlike their sound though, they play gritty fast paced noiserock that is very enjoyable. Here and there in the tracks are arty atmopsheric pieces wich make the music more layered and much nicer. This new album is called ‘Trench Dancer” and is five tracks long and released January 17. Pretty fun to play loud.

Gritty noiserockers Chief Tail release LP

This is some dirty noiserock in the genre of Pissed Jeans and the likes, fast paced, riff fueled heavy noise rock. Short powerful tracks that pump you full of energy and make you jump like a retard in your house all alone. Chief Tail brings no nonsense rock and roll for you and they brought it on Reptilian Records. Out January 17 and recorded and engineered by Steve Albini. Yes

Lightning Bolt share new song

On the Adult Swim Singles Series we get a new track from Lightning Bolt. The band only released their incredible album “Sonic Citadel” last year and we already got new music! and not just a track, a track called “Spaceman” wich is in your face fast paced noiserock wich we love from the band. Drummer/Vocalist Brian Chippendale just released a first track from his new project with Ty Segall that is called Wasted Shirt. It is quite incredible what energy we get from this band. it seems 2020 is only just started but already brought the most amazing music. For some ridicolous reason I can not embed the track on this site. So you have to click the link and go to the adult swim page. Sorry.

Second track from upcoming album by Luminous Bodies

“Nah Nah Nah Yeh Yeh Yeh” is the upcoming album by supergroup Luminous Bodies (Terminal Cheesecake, Part Chimp, We Wild Blood, MGF, Melting Hand and Gum Takes Tooth). The album will be released on Box Records on February 7.

We already got the first track “Choices” and now we get the second track “Hey You”. This track sounds like as if a hurricane picked up members of Terminal Cheesecake, Part Chimp, We Wild Blood, MGF, Melting Hand, Gum Takes Tooth and dropped them in a rehearsel space and then they made this track. I especially like the beginning of the  track, the middle and the end.

Goon release “Natural Evil”

Do you feel a bit under the weather, a bit down? Do you have problems with energy and/or dark feelings? Are you at a loss of what to do with youself, no idea what your function is in the world? You don’t have any talents? No special skillset?

DO NOT WORRY.

The new album by Goon is out on Convulse records and it is so loud and chaotic it suppresses all those feelings, even the good ones!

One full listen and all your feelings will start to fade.
