Fuzzy Sun essentials updated with Reptoid, GÅS and Metz

I have this small list with my absolute favourite artist since I started Fuzzy Sun something about five years ago. I try to keep it small and with only the stuff that completely blew me away. So I decided to add the mighty Reptoid to the list. Reptoid is Jordan Sobolew. Reptoid is a one man noiserock deity. Reptoid is pure, raw, industrial tinged heaviness. ‘WORSHIP FALSE GOD’ is the new album by Reptoid. Check out his album and check out Fuzzy Sun essentials and listen a bit on the spotify list if you are bored.

Second addition is the Swedish GÅS, a fairly new band that just released a 7″ on Rocket Recordings. The is Heavy Psych/ Spacre rock from the highest order.

And Finally a track from the new Metz, wich was a bit hard because I wanted an older track but the new one is soo good so maybe I will Change my mind later on but one thing is for sure, Metz need to be on Fuzzy Sun essentials.

Metz release ‘Atlas Vending’

Metz is one of those bands that will always be loved by the noiserock fan. They have released the most ferocious music in the past and their new album ‘Atlas Vending’ is again a gorgeous piece of noiserock. But this time their are tracks on  ‘Atlas Vending’ that sound more controlled, tracks that have a more postpunk in them and have almost poppy hooks. I almost feared the absolute rage and ferocious feel was lost but no way, their is so much typical Metz chaotic noiserock on this album it will please every fan. The album is really good produced and the you can hear how good the band works together to create ‘Atlas Vending’.

‘Atlas Vending’ is proof a band can evolve and grow in theit sound and style but still stay true to their core music, wich in the case of Metz is still bone shattering, face melting noiserock. Tune in and be like the new Metz album: ‘Beautiful’

Favourite track: ‘Parasite’ and ‘Pulse’

New Metz track ‘Blind Youth Industrial Park’

Can not get enough of Metz, their music always bursts with energy and heaviness. The trio released their previous album ‘Automat’ in 2019 and has released some absolutely cool tracks in between. Now Metz released their third track ‘Blind Youth industrial Park’ before the release of ‘Atlas Vending’ on October 9.

Metz share second track ‘Hail Taxi’

If people ask me what kind of music I like and to give me some examples than Metz is always in them, their music always bursts with energy and heaviness. The trio released their previous album ‘Automat’ in 2019 and has released some absolutely cool tracks in between. Now Metz released their first track from the upcoming album ‘Atlas Vending’ a while ago and now it is time for the second track ‘Hail Taxi’.

The upcoming album ‘Atlas Vending’ will be released on Sub Pop on October 9. On the second track Metz shows a slightly different side, but fear not, the brutal noiserock is still there, ready to destroy all your faces.

METZ is back with new music!

If people ask me what kind of music I like and to give me some examples than Metz is always in them, their music always bursts with energy and heaviness. The trio released their previous album ‘Automat’ in 2019 and has released some absolutely cool tracks in between. So you can imagine how happy I was when I woke up this morning and saw that Metz just released a new track.

The track is called ‘A Boat to Drwon In’ and is on the upcoming album ‘Atlas Vending’ wich will be released on Sub Pop on October 9.

The track is different though then the Metz we know, wich is good, because this is a band that shows how versatile they can be, but don’t worry, they still sound like Metz. The song they released is more modest, the extreme choas and noise is filtered out and the result is a very heavy track with postpunk influences that is 7 minutes long that has a gorgeous atmosphere. This is good, this is very good for 2020.

These previously unreleased tracks by METZ will get you in a noisepunk frenzy

METZ share two previously unreleased tracks from the ‘Strange Peace’-sessions called Acid and Slow Decay.

As you know, the Covid-19 pandemic has been hard on artists’ revenues. Today, May 1st, Bandcamp has decided to waive their share on all sales, meaning everything you pay goes straight into musicians’ pockets.

It’s a nice gesture, but what’s really cool is that a lot of bands share new or previously unreleased music. And yes, Canadian noiserock gods METZ are among them, praise the lord! You can download the tracks ‘Acid’ and ‘Slow Decay’ right now. The songs were made during the sessions for the 2017 album Strange Peace, but didn’t make the cut.

‘Acid’ is a full-on noisepunk pounder and sounds very METZ. Every line is drowning in reverb and overall noise, the energy is massive. The verse is as punk as it gets, the chorus is an invitation to shout along and thrash the room while you’re at it. ‘Slow Decay’ is even grittier, a catchy punksong hidden underneath layers and layers of noise and reverb.

These are a must-listen for Fuzzy Sun-readers. Highly recommended!

MICROWAVES share Cramps cover “Don’t Eat Stuff Off The Sidewalk”

And now it is time for Microwaves that share the track “Don’t Eat Stuff Off The Sidewalk”. Filled to the brim with energy and punk, again an incredible cover. This album is stuff of legends.

METZ release 7″ with three covers

Goddamn Metz keeps slinging the greatest noiserock at our faces without stopping. They just released their album ‘Automat’ wich is compiled of the first three 7”s, non-album singles, B-sides, and other rarities & long out of print recordings, many of which are being made available on LP for the first time ever. Buy it here.

The vinyl LP format of Automat included an exclusive bonus 7” single of METZ interpretations of three diverse cover songs, a glimpse of their wide-ranging and excellent taste.

A cover of Sparklehorse’s “Pig,” from a very limited 2012 Record Store Day split single originally released by Toronto’s Sonic Boom record shop; “I’m a Bug,” a cover of the Urinals’ art-punk classic, originally released on YouTube (not an actual record label) in 2014; and METZ’s previously unreleased rendition of Gary Numan’s “M.E.”
