Mythic Sunship released ‘Wildfire’

The Copenhagen quintet Mythic Sunship has released their album ‘Wildfire’ April 2 and it is gorgeous. ‘Wildfire’ is non stop brilliant space and psychedelic rock. I am hooked at first listen to this, the first track ‘Maelstrom’ is 10 minutes long and is fast paced cosmic rock with magnificent saxophone, the complete track is energetic and wild and normally longtracks start to bore me fast but this is really impressive, and that is just the beginning of the album, there is a lot more of these wild solos and psychedelic stuff ready to trip too. Tune in fro ‘Wildfire’ now and buy the album.

Spanish noiserockers Habitar la Mar

First time hearing of this band and I am instantly blown of my socks and I was barefoot. This band is from Jaen, wich is also the first time I heard of it. So everything is pretty new for me but one thing is for sure, this band rules. Their latest album is named ‘Comedia Yoica’ andwas released February 2. Expect loud riffs, noiserock, hardcore and punk. This is wild.

CHIHUAHUA RELEASE ‘Violent Architecture’

Manchester noiserockers Chihuahua released their new album ‘Violent Architecture’ on May 1 and it is a very good album. Lots of experimental tunes, riffs and noiserock to make this a very varied and fun listen. This debut is heavy and dark but with enough energy to keep it interesting. Buy the digital on their bandcamp now.

Favourite track: Drawbridge

Orphan Goggles release ‘Perfect Specimen’

I learned of this LA band through the split with Acid Mothers Temple and was instantly hooked to their weird, experimental sound. Is it noiserock? is it hardcore? is it metal? I don’t know but it is pretty damn cool. The new album is called ‘Perfect Specimen’. listen and then buy it on Vinyl.

Johnny Mafia Release New Album “Sentimental”

Earlier this year I shared the single from this album and until yesterday, I had played that single at least 100 times. AT LONG LAST we have the full length album and front to back it’s the complete package. The chemistry the band members have to consistently put out jams is something I will be looking forward to for a long time. Enjoy!

GNOD release ‘Easy To Build, Hard To Destroy’

Gnod is one of my favourite bands ever and is actually one of the reasons why I started this website. Gnod is one of the very few bands that incorporate all off the things I love in music, the band makes the most hypnotic psychedelic music possible but can make the most destructive noiserock ever (Donovon’s Daughters is extremely good) and all the while this band keeps experimenting with sounds, genres and atmospheres. The band and members of the band have a lot of side project and all of them are really in interesting in one way or the other. Check out the one with White Hills wivh absolute gorgeous drone/psych. But they have a crapload of experimental and collaborations releases too. I think you get the picture. Now more important is the release of ‘Easy To Build, Hard To Destroy’ which is tricky-to-find, obscure and unreleased material from the heady early days of the band. All hail Gnod!

ALBUM OF THE WEEK: Pressed release ‘Mirrored Body’

Pressed has succeeded in making a gorgeous noiserock album, about everything on this album is good, the brutal and big fat fucking riffs, basslines that makes you bowels move, neurotic drumming and all this is topped with some raw vocals. Some tracks are just brutal, fast paced nobullshit noiserock tracks and others (like ‘Pity Teeth’) are just a bit different which make the whole album more varied and interesting to listen too. It is out on Te Ghost Is Clear Records and there is still Limited green vinyl!

Favourite track: ‘Pity Teeth’

I am going to make a ridiculous amount of lists with noise and psych from all different countries, regions, continents and stuff like that. Already got a list for Greece, France, Japan, Belgium, Canada, Peru and Africa. Now it is time for destructive music from Russia. I found it quite difficult to make this list, It seems I don’t know the Russian scene very well so I asked some help to find hardcore punk and noiserock and still did not have a big list, so I could use your help too, let me know what needs to be on this list.

This is why I started the list. Because Moscow trio Jars rules.

The solo project of multi-instrumentalist Charles Prest of the cosmic carnival and live juggeranturs that is Flamingods, Noon Garden has dropped another fun-laden banger with Decca Divine.

The tropical rollercoaster odyssey that is Decca Divine by Noon Garden is a motley of sounds mixed to create a frenetic floor-filled delving between psychedelia, funk and disco. Fans of Flamingods as well as the likes of The Mauskovic Dance Band, Yin Yin, Los Bitchos, L’Eclair and all that good stuff of new outfits drawing influences from all across the world will be right at home here.

On the single itself, Noon Garden explains:

Sonically this is the most I’ve ever drawn on my African heritage and love for African music. I was  obsessed with Charly Kingson’s track ‘Nimele Bolo’ for a time which has such an infectious, repetitive  bass line and groove that I wanted to explore something similar myself. Musicians like Nigerian funk  master William Onyeabor influenced all the bright synth work and I even named the song after a popular  recording studio in Lagos called Decca Studios where a lot of my favourite African artists like the Lijadu  Sisters, Obenezer Obey and King Sunny Ade recorded albums. Lyrically it’s a celebration of ambition and  determination and a call to exorcise one’s self-doubt”

Noon Garden has also announced details of a solo album set for release later in the year as well as announcing a show set for May 18 (which looks to already be sold out).
