We are in the middle of the year and there is already an overwhelming supply of great music. So here is the round-up of my favorite music released this year. The bands are in no particular order except maybe for GNOD. Their latest album ‘Chapel Perilous’ is on constant replay and is the definition of pure noisy heaviness.
The great God Unknown Records will release the fourth volume of the Singles Club series in December. It will feature music from the likes of The Cosmic Dead, Acid Cannibals, Bruxa Maria, Årabrot, and many more. Listen to Årabrot and Burning Axis now.
Australian trio Potion released two heavy doom/stoner tracks on June 22. Distorted vocals, heavy riffs, slow crushing doom, what else do you want! Listen to their 2 track single ‘Woman of the Wand’ now.
Beak> return with a cosmic new track ‘Allé Sauvage’. The hypnotic track is 7 minutes long and recorded live at Invada Studios. It’s a while ago that i listened to one track so many times. I have played this track while working, shitting, eating, biking, driving and it only gets better each time i listen to it. The otherworldly synth, repetitive bass and building drums mix together in one cosmic song. absolutely gorgeous!
